Why we built it
Hi, I'm Brock, the founder of Ankobi. I've spent more than 15 years building software, over five of them on New Zealand and global finance solutions.
I'd been running my own budget in Google Sheets for a long time, and keeping it up to date meant constant exporting and copy-paste — so I built an integration to bring my transactions in automatically. It made budgeting much easier, and I figured others would find it useful too, so I turned it into Ankobi.
Where the name comes from
Ankobi stands for A New Kind Of Bank Integration. It's also the words 'Bank IO' with the letters rearranged into something that's entirely our own, and hopefully a little more memorable.
Made for New Zealand
