Ankobi (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides financial tools and services, including (but not limited to) a Google Sheets™ add-on that connects to bank transactions via Akahu, and services such as AI-powered integrations. We take your privacy seriously and handle your data in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Information We Collect

Account information: such as your name, email address, and profile information when you connect through Google or other platforms.
Bank transactions: accessed via Akahu, with your explicit consent. These transactions are passed directly into your chosen service (e.g. Google Sheets™) and are not stored on Ankobi’s servers.
Usage data: we may collect anonymised usage information (e.g. logs, analytics) to improve and monitor our services.

How We Use Information

To provide and improve Ankobi’s products and services.
To deliver the features you request (e.g. inserting bank transactions into Google Sheets, or processing data through AI services).
To provide customer support.
To improve our product through aggregated analytics and monitoring.
In some cases, we may use trusted third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting, analytics, or AI providers) to process data on our behalf.

Data Storage & Sharing

Bank transactions are not stored: they are passed directly to your chosen service (e.g. Google Sheets™).
We use trusted third-party cloud providers (such as Google Cloud and AWS) to securely store account and usage data.
We may share limited information with trusted service providers (e.g. analytics, logging, AI processing), but we never sell your personal data.

We may share limited Google user data with the following parties, only as necessary to operate or improve Ankobi's services:

Akahu - to securely connect and access your bank transaction data with your consent.
Google - to provide core add-on functionality and store data within Google Sheets or other Google Workspace products.
Cloud service providers - such as Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, for secure hosting and processing.
AI processing and analytics providers - such as Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT), to assist with optional AI-powered features and product improvements.

We do not sell your personal information. Data is only shared with these providers under strict confidentiality and security requirements, and solely to deliver Ankobi's services.

Security

We use strong, industry-standard security practices to keep your information safe, including:

Encryption for data transfers between Akahu, Ankobi, and connected services.
Secure cloud hosting with providers such as Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
Strict access controls and monitoring so only authorised systems can access limited account information.

Your bank transactions never stay on our servers — they flow directly into your connected services.

Amendments

We may amend and update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes to this Policy if you have an account with us. By providing your personal information to us or continuing to use our Services after receiving notice of any change, you will be deemed to have accepted the updates to this Policy. If you do not agree to any change:

you must immediately notify us and cease accessing our Services; and
we may suspend or terminate your access to our Services.

Your Choices & Rights

Disconnect at any time: you can disconnect your bank accounts from within the UI or via Akahu.
Data deletion: you can request deletion of your data by emailing us at hello@ankobi.co.nz.
Access & correction: you can request a copy of the information we hold about you and ask for corrections if needed.
