Terms of Service

Welcome to Ankobi. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our services, including our Google Sheets™ add-on, related applications, websites, APIs, and other software or services we may provide (collectively, the “Services”). By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who We Are

“Ankobi” is our trading name. We provide tools to help you manage your financial data by connecting to third-party services (such as banks via APIs) and writing data into Google Sheets or similar platforms.

2. Eligibility

Anyone may use Ankobi, provided they have the legal right and authority to enter into these Terms in their own country or on behalf of their organization.

3. Your Account

  • You may need a Google account or other third-party account to use the Services.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to use.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services.
  • Use the Services in a way that infringes the rights of others.

5. Data and Privacy

  • We do not store your bank transactions on our servers. Data is only passed through to your connected Google Sheets™ (or equivalent).
  • We may collect limited personal information such as your Google profile and email address in order to provide the Services.
  • Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Services may integrate with third-party providers (e.g., banks, Google, cloud hosting). We do not control and are not responsible for their products, services, or policies. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Some Services may require payment of fees (e.g., monthly or annual subscriptions). By subscribing:

  • You authorize us (and our payment processor, e.g., Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method.
  • Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable unless required by law.
  • We may change prices with prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Services (including software, trademarks, and content) are owned by Ankobi or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer our Services unless expressly allowed by law.

9. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable Services but do not guarantee they will always be available, error-free, or secure. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue parts of the Services at any time without liability.

10. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Ankobi does not provide financial, investment, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for how you use the information provided through the Services.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ankobi will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ankobi, its directors, employees, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • your use or misuse of the Services,
  • your violation of these Terms, or
  • your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. You may stop using the Services at any time.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on our website or within the Services. Your continued use of the Services means you accept the updated Terms.
